Ditch Witch Partners With MetaFLO To Offer SoildState Solidification Reagents
Ditch Witch, a Perry, Oklahoma-based manufacturer of drilling equipment, mini-skid steers, and other construction equipment, recently became the exclusive provider of MetaFLO Technologies’ SolidState 2 and SolidState 6 solidification reagents. These products are designed to solidify and ease in cleaning up liquid spoils generated as a byproduct of underground drilling and construction.
Modern-Day Alchemy
For organizations that perform directional drilling and underground mining, dealing with the liquid spoils that result can be a drain on productivity and the project’s budget. MetaFLO Technologies is hoping to change all that with innovative new products capable of converting liquid spoils into compact, stackable solids, which can then be safely and efficiently disposed of in compliance with modern regulations, causing minimal impact on the environment.
As the exclusive provider of SolidState 2 and SolidState 6, Ditch Witch is giving users and contractors of its drilling and extraction equipment another time- and money-saving strategy. According to Randy Rupp, Ditch Witch vice president of Product Strategy, “The SolidState reagents allow for a quicker and less costly way to dump liquid spoils that is beneficial for a wide range of users in a highly regulated industry.” Andrew McNabb, MetaFLO’s president and CEO, is also keen to be able to offer the company’s products to the extensive Ditch Witch global dealership network.
The Spoils Of Work
When combined with liquid spoils in a mixing system, MetaFLO Technologies’ SolidState 2 reagent—at dosages of between 0.5% and 1.5% of the total weight—is capable of solidifying liquids in less than 30 minutes. SolidState 6, on the other hand, is designed for semi-solid waste, and can convert it to a solid in less than 10 minutes at a dose of 1% or less by weight. Compared to other reagents on the market, this represents a significant savings both in time and reagent costs.
