AuctionTime.com Helps Black Star ACA Overcome Logistical Challenges to Sell Huge Puerto Rico Consignment Package for Corteva Agriscience

Despite logistical disruptions and extreme market volatility due to the worldwide coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Chicago-based Black Star ACA, LLC sold a huge equipment package based in Puerto Rico in last week’s online-only auctions on AuctionTime.com.

Global agricultural chemical and seed company Corteva Agriscience consigned the package to Black Star ACA, which then faced the challenge of marketing and selling the equipment from its island location. “We were chosen by Corteva to sell these assets due to our experience with complex asset disbursements and a tailored marketing approach,” said Mike LeMaster, Director of Strategy and Business Development for Black Star ACA. “Mind you, the decision was made before COVID-19 restrictions were put in place.”

Leveraging the global reach and remote capabilities of the AuctionTime.com online auction platform, Black Star ACA sold the 210-item equipment package for $1,060,000 (gross auction proceeds) during AuctionTime.com’s two-day auction. “We are pleased to share that Wednesday and Thursday’s AuctionTime results achieved our customer’s expectations,” said LeMaster. “Considering all of the circumstances, we are very proud of the asset values and the amount of new auction buyers, both in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Our Black Star team rallied with our customer, our online partners, and freight partner, to make this a huge success.”
