Schramm T685WS Drill Rig

Chris Schramm founded Schramm Inc. in Pennsylvania in 1900 to produce engine-driven machinery and portable air compressors. Schramm’s headquarters are located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and the company maintains offices around the world, including manufacturing facilities in Perth and Brisbane, Australia. Schramm also sells and services equipment under a licensing agreement with Chilean business partner EDM (Exploration Drill Masters).

Since the company’s inception, Schramm has become a major force in the industry. Within the company’s TELEMAST Series of drilling rigs, for example, the T500XD walking pad rig for horizontal and vertical drilling can literally walk to the next well hole, which saves time and expense in getting set up to drill. Further innovation is on display in Schramm’s FURY 130 drilling rigs, which are mobile yet powerful, with a cabover truck design that delivers 130,000 pounds (58,967 kilograms) of pullback with a relatively low overall height to comply with U.S. Department of Transportation regular permit rules.

Popular Drill Rigs

Schramm product lines include truck- or track-mounted T450 Series rigs with lattice or tube mast designs, depending on the model. Truck-mounted models in this series include the T450MIIA with 30,000 to 40,000 lbs (13,607 to 18,144 kg) of pullback and the T450 (made in Australia) with 30,000 lbs of pullback. Track-mounted models include the T450FNX with 40,000 lbs pullback and the T450/T455 models with 30,000 or 40,000 lbs of pullback.

Schramm’s T685 Series includes heavy-duty, heavy-pullback drill rigs marketed for mineral exploration drilling, water wells, and environmental applications. The T685, for example, offers 93,700 lbs (42,502 kg) of pullback. The Australian-made T685 and T685i models both offer 77,000 lbs (34,926 kg) of pullback.
