Caterpillar’s Switchable 50-/60-Hz EU Stage V XQP310 Mobile Generator Set Now Available Worldwide
Caterpillar has announced its new XQP310, a 310-kVA prime rated mobile generator set that meets EU Stage V emissions standards. Available now from Cat dealers around the globe, the rental-ready XQP310 is suitable for applications including mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, and construction.
“As construction and mining activities rebound worldwide, the Cat XQP310 demonstrates how we are expanding our portfolio of mobile power solutions to deliver the performance and reliability customers need while helping them support their sustainability initiatives and address evolving emission standards,” says Tom Caldwell, global general manager for electric power rental solutions at Caterpillar.
Flexible & Versatile
Caterpillar says the XQP310 has 12% more power than its predecessor. It can easily switch between 50 and 60 Hz and among 127- to 480-volt settings, meaning that a single genset can accommodate load requirements from a variety of equipment in different parts of the world.
All of the XQP310’s controls and system indicators are accessible through Cat’s EMCP 4.2B digital control panel. When a user needs to change processes or applications, the system’s programmable logic controller functionality can accommodate the new requirements.
The XQP310 also supports the Cat Connect subscription telematics system for remote management and tracking. Cat Connect offers wireless monitoring of the genset’s fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) levels, battery voltage, and run status, among other things.
Physical Features
The XQP310 has a dual-walled fuel tank that has an open bund to catch and contain any spills. A three-way fuel valve allows for the use of a larger external tank to extend operation time. Its Cat C9.3B engine can use 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as well as diesel fuel. Its oil change interval is 500 hours.
The genset’s galvanized enclosure has coastal ingress protection (CIP) that allows it to be used outdoors in the elements. The XQP310 is fitted with a wide base frame, forklift pockets, dragging points, and a lifting arch for easy, safe handling. Its customer connections are isolated from circuit breakers. CEE industrial sockets are available as an option, as are synchronizing controls and more.
The XQP310 is backed by 24/7 support from Caterpillar’s widespread dealer network. Cat previously introduced a 200-kVA mobile generator set, the XQP200, in 2021.
