Swedish mining equipment manufacturer Sandvik was recently reconfirmed as a member of the 2018 FTSE4Good Index Series. The FTSE4Good index is a semi-annual review conducted by the Financial Times Stock Exchange Group, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group that rates the environmental, social, and governance performance (ESG) of companies all over the world. Sandvik has had the distinction of being confirmed every year for the past 14 years.

    In Good Company

Christina Båge-Friborg, Head of Sustainable Business at Sandvik, is pleased with the firm’s performance. “We are very proud to be reconfirmed into FTSE4Good,” she says, “not only because it is one of the most prestigious sustainability recognitions there is, but because ESG performance is truly business critical.”

    A Comprehensive Evaluation

As a recognized member of this elite group of organizations, Sandvik has proven that it adheres to a series of globally recognized corporate sustainability standards. There are more than 300 indicators that the FTSE4Good uses to rate an organization’s performance, including biodiversity, climate change, pollution and resource use, supply chain, water use, customer responsibility, health and safety, human rights and community, labor standards, anti-corruption, corporate governance, risk management, and tax transparency.
